# Holler

> Holler is an iOS-first personal-safety app for walking home alone at night in the UK, EU and US. Its signature move: you shake your phone and, instantly, the people you trust know you need them and see exactly where you are, while your phone becomes a loud, flashing deterrent that records evidence. ## The signature feature: shake to alert

- Arm a walk-home session, then a firm shake sets Holler off even with the phone locked in your pocket, with no unlocking and no hunting for a button.
- On a shake, three things happen at once: (1) a max-volume siren and full-screen strobe fire, even on silent; (2) recording starts to capture evidence; (3) the trusted contact you chose is sent your live location.
- It will not go off in a bag or pocket by accident: Holler only listens for a shake during an armed session, and it takes a deliberate shake to fire.
